Exploring Applique' and Embroidery

In these cold winter months, I have enjoyed selecting the colors of Spring in my fiber art and challenging myself to create new stitches as I applique' wool sweater circles and crocheted circles and embroider designs on my wall art pieces.

Perhaps I chose a gray background because I am currently in the gray months of Winter on which to place the contrasting brighter colors of the felted wool sweater circles and crocheted pieces.  The stems are wavy and one large flower wiggles up to the top of the piece to dominate the others.  Endless possibilities can be stitched on the one shape I chose: the circle without need for petals or ovals or any other shape or configuration.  I like to establish confinements and rules to follow in each piece and this one consisted of circles only and wavy stems.

This 16x20 piece is available for purchase at:  www.woolopoly.etsy.com
